'Thérèse Desqueyroux' by Claude Miller to Close 2012 Cannes Film Festival

In keeping with the recent tradition of having a high-profile French film close the event, the Festival de Cannes announced today that this year's slot will be occupied by the Audrey Tautou starrer, Thérèse Desqueyroux, directed by Claude Miller. Based on François Mauriac's novel of the same name, the film is also been screened as a tribute to the veteran director, who recently succumbed to a terminal illness.
